Now, THIS is what I call extended... and improvised(well, maybe not completly).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5VwPfyEq3w

it's amazing... by the EARLY John Petrucci.
Great feeling, great emotion and a little bit crazy too.
It's pretty long considering that this is the extended version of an original short solo in the middle of a song.:)

Probably one of the most underrated guitarists IMHO - Jake E. Lee live with Ozzy in 1984. He has some unique moves.

It's a short one.

And in 1986 (a bit longer):

Not the best, but one of my favs. Ozzy likes to beat the shit out of him in all of his solos for some reason.

That solo is great, but I prefer that petrucci, more metal, more shred but still great control and an awesome track that has never been released on CD("example 31" on his video):

Indeed Petrucci's solos are great, but his showmanship is a bit dull, honestly speaking.

I agree 100% with this. He was always my favorite of the Ozzy guitarist trio. I had the VHS, The Ultimate Ozzy back in '86 & loved it. I played the hell out of that tape. I was always surprised Jake did not hook up with somebody else well known after Ozzy.

Well, Eye did say John Sykes solo from the Thin Lizzy album LIVE. So it is a Sykes solo, not Robertson. Originally the solo is by Gary Moore and Brian was later asked to perform that same solo when he joined the band.

Greg kills in this one, but when he kicks back in at the 5:45 mark, man, that's just gotta be some of the greatest live guitar I've ever heard! 8) :guitar

Paul gilbert playing purple haze!!! i enjoy it from head to tale!!!

enjoy!!!!
Yes I have this Gilbert's cd. Great. Interesting, very few guitarists play "Hey Joe" from Hendrix. If you want to listen Hendrix's songs, please, look http://www.tatraitibor.hu. You will find a group named "Magyar Atom". They play Hendrix very well. Naturally They can do it how they see these ones.
Good luck...

:peace RANDY :peace vs. JAKE AND ZAKK,????

 wow, I am at a loss..??????

When someone asks Zakk who his #1 is,...he will say Randall William

GW asked King DIME who his #1 was ....Randall William

you see guys n gals,..Randy could play anything, learned in less time than anyone,...
The young man sounded like Mozart and Bethoven on the guitar,...took the time to MAINTAIN the CLASSICAL for HIMSELF,.....taught 70 PEOPLE at ONCE, dropped the million dollar band HE created, like a bowling ball carried in a marathon,.. to go and play for his hero,.. and his stuff had SUCH dynamic range still through all of that crammed sides of living,...all the way from Goodbye to Romance,...Dee,....and mega sick ones like You can't kill Rock and Roll,...Mr. Crowley,..Flying High Again,..and I Don't Know. To even COMPARE that angel to other guitarrists isn't even fair,....to them

Here's some REAL and RAW solo's for you,...
not one's that guitarrists have been working on over and over in their spare time....

(Steve looks like he enjoyed that one)
