What do you think of the Swedish metal band Meshuggah?
I love it how they make music that sounds like it comes from the future and breaks the boundaries of how band music should sound.
Fave song/album?
Perhaps Rational Gaze from Nothing (re-release) or Neurotica from Chaosphere.
Meshuggah
my favorite song is probably sublevels or rational gaze, but i love them all, Meshuggah is my favorite band!
check out Sol Niger Within, Fredrik Thordendal's solo album. it's like meshuggah taken to the next level, it also contains my favorite guitar song(and favorite song overall) Zeta-1 Reticuli. That guy is just amazing! sadly, maaany people underestimate him.

I`ve borrowed couple of times their albums from the library but I can`t say that I like what I hear. They sound complex for the sake of being complex. I don`t hear music. I would still like to check them out a bit further, so recommendations are welcome!
acrid placidity, sublevels, vanished (from the Destroy Erase Improve album)prman wrote:recommendations are welcome!
Stengah, Straws Pulled at Random (from the Nothing Album)
In Death-Is Death, Sum (from catch thirty thr33)
also try to get a song called Unanything, it's form the japanese version of Chaosphere I believe....
there's a lot more but to get started i'd go with those, when you dig into them you should be able to appreciate them more and more

I agree, and to me the worst part is James LaBrie's voice.prman wrote:I`ve borrowed couple of times their albums from the library but I can`t say that I like what I hear.
