Satch UK 08 dates - Paul Gilbert opening act

#1 Post by Bono » Tue Nov 13, 2007 6:22 am

Yo guys...didn't see this anywhere else on the forum. Just checked the Satriani site this morning and they've got details of UK dates - I wonder how long they've been up for?

12th May - Birmingham Symphony Hall Birmingham
13th May - Newcastle City Hall Newcastle
14th May - Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Glasgow, Scotland
15th May - Manchester Apollo Manchester
17th May - Bristol Colston Hall Bristol
18th May - Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre Bournemouth
19th May - Cardiff St. David's Hall Cardiff, Wales
20th May - London Hammersmith Apollo London
21th May - Nottingham Royal Centre Nottingham

All dates apart from Nottingham have Paul Gilbert as opening act. More info at www.satriani.com

I see Joe appears to have left Ireland off his tour itinerary yet again.....

Doesn't matter to me though cos' I'll be moving to Edinburgh next month, so I guess I'll catch him and Paul at the Glasgow show :guitar :guitar 8)

My dilemma is whether to go and see him at all. His last album was, for me, crushingly disappointing. Gilberts as the support sways me a little more, but if he just steps on that whammy pedal all the time or does 3 minutes of harmonic squeals at the end of each song and plays that nausea-indicing Crowd Chant (or whatever its called).....well there wouldn't be enough vomit in the whole world.

That clarified things-I'm not going.

Not bothered about the whammy pedal...I'm a Mark Tremonti fan, so you see where I'm coming from!!!

But yes, agree with BBB, stop the 2 minute end to ALL songs. It's dull and boring.

But I'll probably still go!

Damn, I bought tickets. At least I'll have the company of my guitar tutor.

I'm going to listen to 'Super Colossal' over and over for the next few days to see if I can get into it. I think I need to 'embrace' my inner bluesman, before I can get back into Satch. Yes, embrace rather than viciously and forcefully ram those b5ths and b3rds into his...........well you get the idea!
