try sites like http://www.last.fm

just start browsing from some artists you like and follow all the similiar artists

or if you sign up it tracks your listening habits in whatever media player you use (also good for knowing what you listen to the most) and then based on that, it gives you reccomendations by comparing you to other people who have similiar tastes.

Thank you all, so far I have listened to a large majority of the music posted I have to yet finish it all, but so far there is so much awesome stuff,
also I have now become a buckethead addict they are Incredible cheers 'CymbalSplittingSkinbasher' You have also posted alot of other good stuff but I think Buckethead are my fave in your collection of recommendations. Also Tarot were excellent but pretty heavy.

And 'another virtuoso' it seems you have very similar taste to what I was stuck in thanks for your good choices though.

'Mikey' Meshuggah are pretty cool could anyone tell if they've brang a new album out.

Thanks all and keep that sweet sweet music coming. :D :D

Meshuggah are far from boring. They are very heavy, but they have a groove thing going on.
Their most recent is "Nothing" which they re-released. I'm pretty sure it was remixed and remastered.
I can't say enough about Fredrik Thordendal. I have his solo album, and it's insane.
