New Eddie Van Halen Music for Movie
July 27th, 2006

Eddie Van Halen has joined forces with adult director Michael Ninn to write and perform two songs for the upcoming Ninn Worx feature, Sacred Sin.

Van Halen told AVN.com he's not bothered by possible criticism. "I'm working with a friend -- very simple. I like his work," he said.
"Michael Ninn is like a Spielberg to me: the imagery, the way he makes things look, just... sensual."

The Van Halen songs in Sacred Sin are "Rise" and "Catherine," a remix of the theme from Ninn's 2005 movie of the same name.

"One of the things that Eddie really, really liked," Ninn said, "was the theme from Catherine. He did a remix, it still carries the melody, but it's got a Kashmir-Led Zeppelin kind of feel to it now. A very, very powerful piece of music."

The second song, "Rise," was a tune he had been working on already. "I heard it and just fell in love with it," Ninn said. Van Halen also contributed some "transitional piano pieces that are sprinkled throughout the movie." The rest of the music is the work of frequent Ninn collaborator Loren Alexander.

Ninn Worx will release Sacred Sin on September 13. The two-disc set will contain music videos for both Van Halen songs. "They're pretty powerful," Ninn said, calling his friend "an incredible performer who really comes to life when the cameras are on. He's a showman."

Sounds like he did it when he was drunk...what happened to his brown sound? I never would have guessed that was Ed if someone had played it to me "blind"

Not enough wah wah for porn either...

These tracks should be played as part of a public service announcement to show how alcohol can affect your judgement.

The "video" was horrible as well. Eddie just jumping around, not even trying to match up to the music...
Heck, there were times when he was just holding the guitar, making faces...

I personally don't care how good of a friend someone is. When you are (were?) at the level of EVH, you choose your projects carefully. And make sure they are perfect before they leave your hands...

Porn music?
There has to be other offers for Eddie out there...

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

When's the intervention?

That video takes me right back to 1984....and I'm not referring to the VH release.

I saw VH a couple of years ago and wasn't that impressed. Eddie brought is son out and they sat on the front of the stage and that was cool but it was like they didn't really have anything planned or rehearsed. It was kind of a buzz kill.

I think the 1st new tune is pretty cool, very cool vibe, what I do not like is the over abuse of the sustainer, sometimes it's just like, OK, I get it, I just miss the guitars normal dynamics after a while. By the way, that is what is happening when he is "Just holding the guitar" he's in sustain mode.

I have to admit, I'm a huge EVH fan and this is just sad. It's like he's going down a dark path lol. I sure hope he comes out of it. Who would of thought it would result to Porn soundtracks . . . :?

Well I think he trying different tones is a great thing. As for it being bad? It isn't bad at all. In fact some of the stuff was Vai'est at times. The deal is he has made his money and now he can do anything he wants too. Mr. Van Halen, like Mr. Vai, has paid his dues "Vocal band mainstream stuff" and now he's free to explore anything he wants too. The best deal a guitarist can hope for.

Amen.
