Ahh right then. Ok he's good but the stuff that isn't fast doesn't sound great. However if he has a grasp of that level of fast playing this early and keeps adding to his technique then yes he will be awesome. However there is nothing in there yet that has shown me he can come up with good music of his own, and parents who wish it can keep their child locked in their rooms for 8 hours a day practicing just so they develop like robots. Classical violinist/cellist/pianist/anythingist prodigies are another example of this. Let the kid have a life.

Maybe he thinks he does. Maybe fat kids want to sit in front of the TV all day and eat Doritos. I know one of the reasons I practiced when I didn't want to was not to disappoint my parents who had put money into lessons and time helping me. I'm not saying this necessarily the case with this kid but a lot of the time its a great way for parents to feel proud of their progeny whilst preventing them from experiencing life at the risk of a few bruises.
In short, whatever, if he really is that good and still does the shit a normal kid does then cool but if it's another "prodigy" brought about by overbearing parents then the kid is losing out on life. I've had plenty of experience with musicians like this and they aren't always the most down to earth of people.

That's so true of some musicians. Handed like a violin at the age of 3. These kids are born with silver spoons in their mouths, rich parents, private schools, private tuition, all that. I see these kids all the time. If you ever go to a ABRSM grade exam, you'll see these little kids doing these exams in like 10 minutes, while people like me are left sitting there like dumbasses. 
I met a fair few conservatoire students in the past, and they're all so far up their own asses it's untrue, all still being breast fed by mommy and daddy.

Your post is truth. Some of these kids don't even know what rock music is past the nu-metal/pop-punk crap that's mainstream nowadays. Luckily people I knew were educated on the musicianship of Dream Theater and LTE at least.
ABRSM is a joke, mostly because they don't have specialist examiners for each instrument, and they're so cold. I did grade 1 with them, the examiner looked at me like I was a piece of shit, later I found out I got a distinction. Guess the parents think it's good because it's "Royal". What a world. And Guildhall have nicer certificates :p

This video was posted on many forums and it's always funny to see people coming with replys like ' he cannot make good music' or 'he has no feel' or 'it's not that amazing'. Sorry guys, but it IS amazing. And not to mention his age, i mean hey i bet none of us played like that when we were kids ... What do we know about parents forcing him to practice .. These are only suppositions, maybe this kid really enjoys it. Anyways, when someone deserves kudos, and some assholes are just jealous like Shredlix well said in his post.
i can see him growing up to be another speed guitarist which is nothing new and never interesting as we've already seen it done. i really wish people would play properly these days as they grow up. its a very boring video to watch and sure he may be good but come on who wants to see someone do whats already been done?
