I'm still baffled that a seventeen-year-old can play one of Dream Theater's most complicated songs---and on the drums!

I mean, sure the guitar is hard, but with drums there really are no "tabs." This kid basically had to learn the song by ear!

You see virtuosos of all age, nationality and instruments these days.

Awesome drum skills nonetheless. :D

Yeah that was a Pearl double bass pedal

And he's indeed amazing...

btw: somebody noticed his crash above his snare?

It's broken!

I wonder what kind of kit he has???

mmmm maybe I'm going to study on that song too...

Only that's gonna take me a lot of time!

My littlebrother learned and played Dream Theater`s "Metropolis Pt. 1" by ear on the drumset when he was fourteen. He even wrote a transcription of the drum parts. Nowadays he doesn`t bother on that kind of material `cos it`s too easy. He`s more into jazz & fusion.

Really great drummer. I think I recognize him, but since, judging from his name, he's Swedish maybe I've seen him somewhere before.

Hey, El_Jefe, nice to see a new Swede on the forum. Can't have too many in my opinion.
Do you know which band this guy is in now? If they're up to his standards they might be worth hearing... :) All the best.

Great, I'll ask around. And yes, one Malmsteen is enough. :) All the best.
