Steve's material is too intense to play when you're drifting to sleep in my opinion. My favourite bed-time album is I am or Shoot the Violist by Joe Hisaishi.
Has anyone got any bedtime musical preferences?
What album do you listen to when you go to sleep?

Electric Tears - Buckethead
Colma - Buckethead
Damnation - Opeth
Animals - Pink Floyd
I'm usually listening to Coast To Coast AM with George Noory when I'm laying down to fall asleep, but I listen to some music once in awhile too, & it would probably be something like those I mentioned above, or maybe some Jesse Cook, Alex de Grassi or Will Ackerman would be nice.

"The sound of silent"
There is no music better then silent
and nothing better to drink then water
and nothing better to breath then air.
All other stuff is polution.
HEY! What I nice first verse of a song
You are free to use it, but please give "b2" at Vai.com some credits hehe
But I believe the tittle "The sound of silient" is used many times.

it doesnt matter to me how busy or heavy the music is. If the lights are off im in bed and i put my headphones on i usually dont make it past the first track. Even if its Pantera. Then again - i probably get it from my dad who once fell asleep in front of my playing through my marshall 100w stack.....
i cant really listen to music when im goin asleep... i concintrate to much on the music and trying to figure out whats goin on yada yada, and it just keeps me awake =/
unless im really tired of corse.. ive a back cd of violin concerto's thats kinda mellow and quiet that might work

Actually I listen to "The 7th Song" every night i go to bed alone... i couldn't listen to Steve's other stuff, that's just no music that lets u fall asleep easily, but all those ballads... they really work.
And I'm looking forward to going to bed every night, lol.

Theres this guy from austraila named xavier rudd. He plays drums, digery doo, and a dobro all that the same time. I like to listen to him before I go to sleep alot of his music is very relaxing.

Yeah, I either like listenin to Django Reinhart or Megadeth when I'm counting sheep. Depends on the mood I guess. One time I tried listening to Claude Debussy (classical) when I was going to sleep, but the goddamn dynamics kept me up all night. I need something that stays the same volume all the time.
