A Perfect Circle

#1 Post by Mikey » Thu Apr 17, 2003 2:01 am

It's old news, but I'm pretty excited about the adjusted line-up of A Perfect Circle:

Twiggy Ramirez (aka Jeordie White) replaces Paz Lenchantin on Bass (I liked Paz, but I love Twig).
Danny Lohner replaces Troy Van Leeuwen on Guitars.

The rest of the line-up remains the same.

Billy Howerdel (brains behind APC) used to be Adam Jones' (Tool) guitar tech. He had some songs written as a little side project and asked Maynard James Keenan (also of Tool) to sing on them. I think that's pretty much how the band came into fruition. As mentioned above, two members have been replaced and the band are now working on a follow-up to their debut album "Mer De Noms". Also, I think Tool are on something of a hiatus while Maynard spends time with the APC guys.

Mer de Noms was amazing, I hope this one is just as good. The only complaint I had was it's length..far too short!I like an hour at least.

I'm hoping the new lineup works out well. I'm sure it will. They're an awesome band. I saw them live in Seattle a couple years back, and it completely rawked. Completely look forward to new stuff from them.

I have to confess, I haven't really kept up with them, but "Judith" kicked major tail...

OMG! A new APC album!!!!!!

I LOVE this band!

I thought Paz LeChantin's contributions were pretty cool (aside from laying down a solid bassline, she added alot of atmospherics and ambience with her multilayered violin playing that came in here and there). Maynard is definitely tied with one or two others for my "fave vocalist" spot, and is a huge influence in my own vocal style.

When this new album comes out, I'll definitely check it out. :D
