Yeah, he was just for the tour. The current drummer's gotta be one hell of a drummer since he replaced Dirk...

I'd have to say Donati, Donati taught my dads mate drums, he was good back then and he is even better now, Donati is an incredible Drummer.

Thomas Lang is also a pretty awesome drummer

I say the best is Neil Peart, hands down. He can do ANYTHING, and his set is easily the most amazing out of any.

He's closely followed by Mike Portnoy. Portnoy's technically good, but he's not as... "diverse"... as Peart. He sticks more to Prog Metal (but he's good at it).

Buddy Rich is amazing too.

Weird question: Can someone go back to page 5 of the thread and tell me who I voted for? I didn't put a name, I posted a picture but the firewall at work blocks photobucket. It was either Peart or Portnoy........yes, I feel suitably silly.

That was amazing. I saw him once in about 1977 or so, and was completely amazed.

Seen this one?

Neil Peart's BR tribute concert. Interesting to watch and compare the two. I'm a huge fan of both drummers
