Another nice version in a little more fusion style is the
Sting version from Nothing Like The Sun album.
The two solos in that verison is some of my all time favourite solos.
Played by Hiram Bullock if i remember his name correct.
I'm not much of a Sting kinda' guy.
Yeah but the best SUNG version of Little Wing is Sting's in my book - he sings his **** off :)

Vai's.

Cause Hendrix's version is messy and the singing is lousy. Those other ones I haven't heard.

Little wing performance

#21 Post by udy » Sat Aug 20, 2005 10:10 am

All players try to play Hendrix' songs but it is very hard work. Exclusively the best players can put theirs spirit into these songs. Without this all work is entirely futile.
My favourite guitarist from Hungary is Tibor Tatrai who can do this.

The best version is Hendrix live at the Royal Albert Hall, certainly the most inspirational.

How sweet would it have been to have Stevie Ray Vaughn do G3
W/ the boys.Ive often thought that SRV would have given Steve and Joe
a run for there money doing anything from hendrix

There is another version worth considering...

Image

Los Lobotomys -
Los Lobotomys
"The Legendary Lobotomys Live album" The Tracks are: Dismemberment, Oozer, Purple Haze, Big Bone, Jorainbo, Lobotomy Stew, Little Wing, Smell Yourself & All Blues.
Musicians on the Los Lobotomys album: David Garfield, Carlos Vega, Jeff Porcaro, Joe Sample, Brandon Fields, Lenny Castro, Steve Lukather, Vinnie Colaiuta & Will Lee.

I got this album back in 1992 and the Little Wing on here featuring Steve Lukather is a great version...

Another version ahs come to my mind...
From Tuck & patti !!!
They did a medley of Castles made of sand and Little Wing really really jaw dropping... Look for it

So my vote goes for Tuck & Patti's version :P

G3 was my least favourite. Yngwie Malmsteen's solo :x ...
