This song is on Dweezil's second album "Confessions". Vocals by Donnie Osmond and about six different guitar players doing some really cool solos in a row. Some names that come to mind: Warren de Martini, Zakk Wylde and Nuno Bettencourt. Vai doesn't appear on the entire album, though.

A friend of mine downloaded a (fake?) version with Ozzy on vocals. It could be a version that didn't make it on the album.

On topic : Paul Gilbert's version of "Two Become One" (Spicegirls) is hilarious and really good at the same time.
The version of Stayin Alive on Confessions has the following personel:

Dweezil - Guitar
Donny Osmond - lead vocal
Scott Thunes - bass
Josh Freese - drums
Mike Keneally - "heavy metal string section"

1st guitar solo - Dweezil
2nd solo - Zakk Wylde
3rd solo - Steve Lukather
4th solo - Warren De Martini
5th solo - Nuno Bettencourt
6th solo - Tim Pierce

Right now I'm listening to John Waite's version of Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine; very nice. It's on John's Temple Bar cd.

Actually, it is an old Irish ballad, so attributing it to Thin Lizzy would be a mistake.

Sorry Prez, no link. I have the cd. It's on the Alex Skolnick Trio's, Goodbye To Romance: Standards for a New Generation cd, released on Alex's "Skol Productions" label. This jazzy version of War Pigs is great. The whole cd is quite good, but imo, this song is the best of the bunch.

Here's the track listing, & all of these songs are done as jazz arrangements:

Detroit Rock City - Kiss
Dream On - Aerosmith
No One Like You - Scorpions
Goodbye To Romance - Ozzy
Still Loving You - Scorpions
Skol Blues - Alex Skolnick
Pinball Wizard - The Who
Ofri - Alex Skolnick
War Pigs - Black sabbath

What about Jazz is dead (Jimmy Herring, T Lavitz and co) doing whole albums of Grateful dead covers in an unreal improvisational showcase???

I like STP's cover of Dancin' Days. And almost all of VH's Diver Down album :-)
