Dragonforce

#1 Post by metalus » Sat Jul 02, 2005 3:53 pm

Anyone on here like Dragonforce?.

They are UK band from London. Imagine Iron Maiden at 100MPH. Very technical guitar playing(twin assault). One of their guitar players Herman Li, is a very big Steve Vai fan. And takes alot of his playing influences from Steve.

Take a look.

Yep, I love Dragonforce... Great music and great singing, although it can get a bit cheesy at times.

Their official website has a few video's to look at..Some funny one's with Herman Li getting caught up in his guitar strings(he has ass long hair),tripping up etc. Also top left of the front page has a couple of songs to listent o while you look around the site.....excellent musicians...

I met Herman at an Yngwie gig a few years ago-what a nice, self-effacing chap he was!

I read about these guys a while ago. I'll have to pick up the record this week.

Everything about them is truly awful in my eyes, from their clichéd name to their embarrassing lyrics and the incredibly dated sound of the band and singer. Even their album art work is really terrible. I can't believe there is a still a market for this kind of music. As a kid twenty years ago I probably would have loved the band but now I can only cringe at this type of stuff.

I'm with Shacks - kinda wish I wasn't... I try to make it a policy to make an effort to like guitar bands...

This one is a bit too 'Bill & Ted' for me... it's all about the hair and the lightspeed widdling...

I think they are cheesy too, but I don't reallly give a flying leap any more if bands are anachronistic. I'll listen to what I like, even if it is 10 years out of style.
