ok.. Vai and the Philharmonic performance..

#1 Post by modal » Tue May 06, 2003 8:33 pm

I remember awhile back he did one with a 30(pretty sure it was 30) piece orchestra and the reviews I remember seeing about it was speechless. Esp. the performace of For the Love of God and one entitled Lotus Feet. I can only imagine what a track called Lotus Feet would sound like
Also remember seeing some pics and article in a Young Guitar mag but I dont read japanese
Someone has got to have info on how this was and if the performance was recorded etc.

Also in a couple Young guitar mags a few years back, I rememeber seeing an ad with a cd of vai playing certain classical tracks. I can see the picture of the cd cover in my head but I cant remember what exactly it said. It was white cover with script-style font if that helps any.

The performace was called "Sound Current" and is being discussed HERE. It has not been released, but as Steve has said, eventually everything he has recorded will be released in some way or another.

Incidently, "Lotus Feet" is one of the songs Steve is considering making available as a limited edition hand-signed lithograph.

Not sure what the CD you've mentioned is, but it has not been released officially. I've actually never heard of it or anything like it.

Hope this helps a little,

Mikey
