Here's hoping that on the forthcoming Vai dvd taped live in London, Mr. Vai will include the graceful whispering a prayer....

Every vai fan would beg and steal to get a glimpse of just how he does it live.
that song is a mind blower man. That guitar sounds like its crying for god's sake! Like a yearning soul!
It would showcase one of his latest discovery too, the sustainer system, which is the key to it all.

That would be cool!

yes bootlegs are bad!

I want to see it on a Steve vai DVD!!!
I've seen him do it live, but watching from the balcony at a g3 just isn't the same as watching on dvd! I'm sure a lot of tricks and techniques would become evident to all.

Just need to say that whispering a prayer is simply one of the best creations in a long list of totally incredible instrumentals I have ever heard from Steve! My hat is off to Steve!

I agree! Its breathtaking!

I too saw it at from the balcony at the G3 2001 concert in Toronto, and, not knowing what the hell it was I was hearing, I was floored. I couldn't believe such sounds could actually come from a guitar!

Seeing it on DVD would be incredibly impressive. I think Steve would be pretty proud of it, and I'm betting it'd definitely be on the upcoming video release.

I've seen "Whispering a Prayer" live twice. First time at the G3 Austin TX in July 2001, and second time at the G3 in Monterrey, Mexico in May 2002. Awesome performances! Steve is simply incredible while playing this song. For me, it was the best of the set list for the G3 concerts.

And what was better, was that on both ocassions, I was in the front row right in front of Steve. WOW! It's amazing the contact Steve has with the crowd.

I first heard this song at the HOB in Anaheim Jan 2001. That was a fun show... I think maybe the last with the MK,MM, PB, DW band?
I had no idea at the time what the AIAUW record would be, and so discovering the tune live was a real treat. It's a gorgeous song. I'm hoping it shows up on the DVD as well.

i have seen him play it twice too!!!!
One one the Ultra Zone tour it was the last show here in Mexico City.
It was very special nobody knew the song I think he just had it recorded in his last shows in Argentina which where just before Mexico City.
Then in the G3 show in Mexico City in the National Auditorium.Steve stole the show that night.

I'll be really dissapointed if this track doesn't make it to the dvd...its the one I want to see most, because I've seen vai play most of the other stuff live and upclose.

But this is just something I want to be able to keep in my home archive.

I think Stevie knows this is one of his best tracks ever tho

Whispering a prayer if a fabulous song! I sure hope it will be included on the DVD. There is just so much emotion in that song!
