'Flying in a Blue Dream' voices?

#1 Post by lydian7 » Sun Oct 10, 2004 12:33 pm

I read in Joe's anthology that, during the recording of FIABD he started getting TV stations coming through his amplifier. John Cuniberti hit record and the rest, as they say, is history.

My question is this: From what T.V show or film do the voices from FIABD come from? This is a mystery, as Joe himself doesn't know the answer. Maybe it was an alien T.V station he picked up?

Now that you mention that, it does sound like a tv. Tried slowing it down and figure out what the voices were saying but couldnt make out a word...ill keep trying. Im intrested in this question to if anyone has an answer.

i was trying to figure that out a while ago too... at the end i managed to catch something like...
"sometimes they still...(couldn't distinguish)... children... but sometimes they don't."
i think that's what i heard... :?
maybe the Satch forum would be a better place to ask?

Maybe the voices weren't from any current (at the time) broadcasts?

Have any of you seen the movie "Frequency"?
On the bonus materials, they talk about how someone listened to a broadcast on "ham" radio. And apparently, a tradition is to write down what time and where you were when you heard it. You then send it to the broadcaster so that they can see where in the world people are listening.
So, this person did just that.
He sent it off, and a few weeks later he got a reply.
"Thanks for listening, but we haven't broadcast anything for 10 years..."

It seems like the radio signal went out into space, roamed around for 10 years, and then bounced back to Earth, where someone received it.

Spooky.......

Ya it did sound like a child and an adult...and also they repeat something like two or three times. Has anyone asked this question in a Satch forum yet?

"women can ... .... each other. sometimes afterwards they still like each other, and sometimes they don't." ??

Along w/ Lydian7 i would still like to know if anybody figures it out or gets a respone off of the Satch site.

If you have a look in the Vault part of satriani.com there is a FAQ section where Satch answers fans question.

Question 26 is...

26 IceJasX Q: In the beginning of the song "Flying in a Blue Dream," a young boys voice can be heard in the background. What does he say?

A: ...i still don't know!

Have a look at the FAQ HERE.

Joe's answer wasnt very helpfull was it?!

I believe it may be from a show called hazel The voice is very distintive and it is an older show .

maybe the Satch forum would be a better place to ask?
But we can still have his own opinion and ask the question here no.
