hey people! metallica is my favourate band and i was wonderin does steve vai like metallica??? would he play any of there stuff or does he when he is just chilling out with the guitar! would he play with them or whatever???? 8)

Steve probably likes Metallica because he says he likes heavy metal. I read this in an article somewhere.

I'm pretty sure that Steve wouldn't be playing Metallica because the stuff he plays is far more complex in nature. He's just on a different level as a musician. No offense meant... I like Metallica too.

Balogna. You're making it sound like Steve is superior to these guys when in fact he's not. He's not even superior to Nirvana. All bands have their own styles and talents.

I would say if he is a fan of any style of music im sure he jams on it at some point much like anyone else would.

Back in the early 90's, Steve loved the (at the time new) Barbara Streisand album.

I don't think he only listens to guitar music. :)

He doesnt only listen to guitar based music he said it before that he likes broadway shows and musicals with west side story being one of he favorites

In the latest installment of Guitar World he mentioned "She Bang" by Ricky Martin as being one of his recent favorites.
