Very excited about the Passion and Warefare reissue with the DVD...

I remember reading in Guitar For The Practicing Musician (or similar) back in the day that he would film himself playing the whole album to send to the transcribers so they could get the fingering correct for the tab...

It'd be so cool to include this footage on the DVD!!
Hopefully Steve or one of his staff will see this and plant that seed for a possible inclusion.

Can't wait to see what else he has in the archive from this period, hopefully some rare gems...

Can you dig it? :headbang

Your last solo release was the second installment of the Real Illusions trilogy. Are there any plans to release the follow-up to 2012’s The Story of Light?

Vai: My next studio record will not be that because I have something else I want to do. Most of my records are very dense, composition-heavy, and there’s bits of different kinds of music like an acoustic ballad, instrumental trio pieces, and vocal tracks. The record that I’m working on is the one that my fans wanted me to make that I never made. It’s me playing guitar as intensely as I can. It’s kind of like Alien Love Secrets, which was an EP I previously released.

I just read Guitar Player may 1990 issue. Vai on the cover and he talks about the album, songs etc.
Interesting to read again 25 years after I first bought the magazine.

Also now reading Guitar Player may 1988. That was when David Lee Roth's "Skyscraper"
was released. Also interesting to read.
Steve talks a bit about the Ibanez Jem guitars, says:
- Then we talked about mass producing it, and I didn't want to put my name on it, because
who wants to buy a Steve Vai guitar? What is it going to be in 20 years? It's better
that the guitar actually speaks for itself.

Also many interesting columns in the old Guitar Player magazine. High quality writers.

I've just learned to take everything we hear with a grain of salt.

What happened to the Flex-Able 25th anniversary edition with the photo book and the pre-Flex-Able recordings? What about our box set?

This is why I can't get excited when I see stuff like this anymore!
