Well, just think - there are a lot of songs that were on the last DVD, BUT they have evolved into something new now because the band is different. Steve has always talked about evolving everthing he does. FTLOG is different now because he plays the opening melody with the harpist, not the violins anymore. The harp is a new dimension and Phillip Bynoe is different from Bryan Beller. You also see an acoustic upright bass that he plays - which we've never seen before. And I really think that the version of The Ultra Zone with Steve in that outfit and guitar needs to be visually and audially documented. I got to see it all live in Greensburg. So, all in all, this show is very different than the last tour. (Also note how Steve's hair got shorter!)

It's not only that there are a lot of the same songs, though way too much of the set list IS the same, it's that they're being played in (mostly) the same way. I'd definitely buy a new DVD (the same way I buy almost anything Steve releases), but I wish he had changed the set list a little more. Honestly, have we had Building the Church on every dvd with Vai on it since Real Illusions was released? It's a cool song but there's no need to play it on every single tour and have it on every dvd. And you know what? I'm gonna bet he played it on his most recent G3 sets too. Even the "improvisations" on Building the Church are the same that they've been since the G3 in Tokyo DVD. Meanwhile, an absolutely mind blowing and amazingly beautiful song like Windows to the Soul has yet to be captured on DVD. For the Love of God and Whispering a Prayer are some of my favorite songs in the world, but there are so many other songs that are in the same class, that we could see live and have on DVD. Just my 2 cents.

Windows to the Soul needs to be captured on DVD, end of story :)..for years I've enjoyed the bootleg clip of it during Live in Bucharest.

Does anyone know which gig they filmed? Or maybe they'll do one in South America or something, since he's already done London and Minneapolis.

Perhaps will be the show recorded form LA broadcasted on AXS TV?
