Anyone know (Admin) if Steve is recording this tour for a live DVD release in the future? Seen him Sunday in Albany N.Y. and would love to have this show to watch/hear again, Great set-list!!

Doubtful. Much of the set list from the last tour that was filmed for DVD was carried over into this one....unfortunately.

I really hope he does do a DVD of this one. It was such a fantastic show!
There's plenty of new in the set-list, plus you just gotta have the beautiful HipHarpist, Deborah Henson-Conant, on a DVD with Steve!

I believe Steve said in one of the recent interviews that they're working on it, acutally...

Yeah, it would be nice, I do think that since this is such an extensive tour after so many years that they eventually will shoot a show or two but it's not by any means confirmed and even if it does happen it will probably take another 2+ years...

Oh I know it will take time. These things always do. But I can't help being delighted that we will (at some point) have a DVD of this fantastic show! :D
Always a thrill and a treat, to be able to revisit something like that. And for the folks who can't get to a show (I've been in that group for so long!) a DVD is a way to enjoy it, anyway.

It would not surprise me if they filmed a show or two during the European leg or later during the US tour. Steve mentioned that the band usually needs a few weeks under their belt to really gel. I could see improvement from the time I saw them in Ridgefield, CT to New Brunswick, NJ in just three days. Let's hope this is captured as it is a visual as well as audio treat.

This is great news! Steve's DVDs are some of the few that I dig and actually play.

I'm making the trek out west for 3 nights in a row in Cali (Anahiem, LA and Agoura Hills)...hope he decides to record at one of those.

:headbang

I've had pretty good luck when it comes to DVD shows. Fortunate enough to be at the first G3 recording in Minneapolis (Eric Johnson) AND the Denver one! Just missed a ZPZ by a show or two. I think they ended up recording in Portland...

In any case I just can't wait to see another live Vai performance!! 9/30 Salina can't come soon enough...

I hope we get 1080p this time around if there is a Blu-Ray. Another live vinyl LP would be great too!

it will be interesting to see another dvd, one where i am actually familiar with steve when it was shot, not a dvd thats 3 years old or even ten years (the astoria) but like someone else said, a lot of the songs that were on the last dvd were on this tour, so it might be a bit of a re cap. i wonder if he will shoot it at minneapolis again :D

I don't see where a LOT of the songs were on the last DVD.....I see six from the last one and 3 of them are "gimmies" that will be on every Vai release. That leaves 13 new one's that would make a kick-ass DVD.... :guitar
(same)
Building the Church
Tender Surrender
Whispering a Prayer
Audience is Listening
Taurus Bulba
For the Love of God

(new)
Racing the World
Velorum
Gravity Storm
Weeping China Doll
John the Revelator
The Moon and I
The Animal
Rescue me...
Sisters
Salamanders..
The Ultra Zone
Frank
Build me a Song (that was cool)

I would buy it for that set-list alone........... :peace
