Where the wild things are on Blu Ray

#1 Post by LuckyCharms21 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 4:16 am

I had pre-ordered the Blu ray a few weeks back and this morning I got a message from amazon.com saying the release date had been pushed back another month. What happened? :( :( :( I see that the regular dvd release date hasn't changed.

I believe they're having problems 'pressing the discs' at the factory or something-Mikey's mentioned it somewhere. I don't mind waiting a few weeks personally-we will get it evetually. In the meantime, if you're desperate to see it, buy the DVD ;-)

I added WTWTA to my queue on Netflicks. They are showing it with an "unknown" release date. I hope they get it otherwise, I'll have to wait to see it until i can get it on Blu-ray. I could just watch the previews over and over on Youtube until then.

The "new" release date is now 27th Oct... almost a month later than the original date... oh well... but no, I'd rather wait and won't buy the dvd version.

I wonder if there will be a pre-ordering sign-up deal like with the DVD. If so will it include the CD and the download-cd as well ? As much as I admire steve.. ordering both DVD and BluRay is too much to handle for my wallet ;-)

Last week I sent an email to the Pre-Ordering company but have not received a reply yet

hope anyone here (Mikey ?) can help me out on this one

cheers

Man, it must be hard to get a BluRay out, I remember looking
forward to this in like May or something, when it was initially
supposed to come out.

Has this been pushed off again? Amazon & this site had the 26th, but now this site says
Nov. 11th now.

I have no idea if the delay is because of technical reasons, but I have read that there is a lot of red tape when it comes to releasing something on Blu-Ray.

Warning - lots of swearing / cursing:

The new release date is November 11th, and this is the final date. Discs are now pressed and packages are being assembled.

There were production holdups, and yes, there are licenses and stuff to get when you produce a blu-ray, but we're through it now.

Thanks for your patience. For those of you looking forward to the blu-ray, it will be worth it.

Early next week we'll be announcing an on-sale for the blu-ray. The first 400 purchases will get an autographed blu-ray, the CD download and a pick. The blu-ray will ship on the 11th of November.

Excellent news! So Amazon's dire warning of a Dec 4th shipping is inaccurate or is that the case for us European Blu-Rayers?

Will it say on bandmerch if we are getting one of the first 400 or not? Being in the UK i dont want to order the blu ray from america paying a load for shipping to find theres a chance i might not get the signed version, as It obviously is a lot cheaper to just buy it from amazon :p

NAV indicates these are unsafe sites. Indicates there are at least 3 computer threats. I recommend avoiding them.

I wouldn't worry to much. Jason Scott is a well known guy in the hacker realm (in the good sense of the word). NAV is probably triggered by keywords.
It's a safe blog to read.
