Favorite Vai Song You don't hear about a lot

#1 Post by TRIDS » Tue Nov 20, 2007 7:10 pm

Hey guys its been a while since I posted been busy, but I was wondering what is everyone's favorite vai song that you don't hear about a lot. I will start off and say mine is feathers. I have a lot of friends that listen to vai and I mention this song and everyone gives me blank stares. I don't get why one knows about this song it is so good. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. If it is then mods just lock it up and I will post in the correct spot.

Boston Rain Melody and Fever Dream

I think they are his more obscure songs owing that the majority of people who know him just a tad bit will only relate to his stuff from P&W, which deserves it's recognition, and songs like Bad Horsie, Building the Church, Tender Surrender, Die to Live etc.

-GENOCIDE!!!!!!!!!- Great rocker, love the choir
-Celluloid Heroes- Steve's best vocal performance
-The Boy From Seattle- #3 on the greatest Steve songs ever!
-I Would Love To- The epitome of 80's rock
-Blowfish- Crazy techno-rock with a legit riff
-The Black Forest- Amazing bass
-Here I Am- Catchy vocal rocker
-Now We Run- Insane rocker, great concert opener
-I'm Your Secrets- Very good song, kind of weak on vocals
-Shadows and...........- The best song on "Sound Theories"

'Little Green Men' from the old Flex-Able cd. Just a lovely, funny Zappa-ish tune.
Also from that cd:
'Salamanders In The Sun' and 'Bledsoe Bluvd'
Other tracks:
'Essence'
'Massacre'
'God Eaters'
and the cover version of 'Drifting' on the Hendrix tribute album. The solo he does on that one is just heavy and soulful and tasty.

Well, I haven't been a fan for a long time, but i think The Boy from Seattle and In my dreams with you should be played more often.
