I listened through the first CD in the car. And like...I pretty much had goosebumps for a good 5 minutes straight at least. And I LOVE the transition from I'm Becoming to Salamanders in the Sun. And then into Liberty. I love how Vai imitated on his guitar some of the random things audience members would shout out, I was laughing. And then when liberty started, I cranked it up, and I was just..it's hard to describe the joy I felt. I started laughing, and then tears came to my eyes it was just such a euphoric experience..it just overwhelmed me somehow...

Anyways right now I am just too giddy, I'll have to post a more in-depth review later.

What happens at 4:28 in Gentle Ways?!

A sustainer breakdown?!

Funny thing, I love this little precious pearls Steve leaves in His works.

I'm sure He could have fixed it, but it sound so freaking natural like this that it's just perfect 8)

I really enjoyed the album it was spectacular. I think one of my favorites is salamanders. I don't no what it is about this version of the song but it just gives me this feeling of joy. oh, and i don't know if this was already answered, but where was Lotus Feet? Did he not put it on there because it was on RI?

Disc 1 is really great-can't wait for the DVD though, I think it'll make the whole experience a lot more 3 dimensional than it is at present.

Disc 2 is 'challenging'! I'm not a great fan of 20th century classical music which this sounds very similar to-Stravinsky and then some- but I have to hear the CD 10 times before coming to any real conclusions and I'll reserve judgement until then.

I must agree, the 2nd disk does sound pretty out there. It's interesting to listen to though. IDK how much it will grow on me, but just to think that Vai composed all of that! Once that sinks in I think I'll like it a bunch more.
