Burnin Down the Mountain is cool, but Fuck Yourself is one of Steve's best.

Little Pieces of Seaweed rules hehe..

but then again.. "Fuck Yourself" rules too.

By the way.. Nilsefix, it's not his worst album. It's just weird. It's lefovers from the Flexable days, hence the name "Flexable Leftovers". Zappa's major influence hadn't rubbed off quite yet. ;)

Hard to pick, so much interesting stuff on this one. I voted for "Natural Born Boy"...killer raw ripping track. Love the momentum and energy on it.

Honorable mentions go to Details At 10, I love that song's message.

Burning down the mountain.....This song is Amy's favorite,,,, it's simple and just has a inner groove that hooks you. I remember listening to this on our way up the mountain in Southern California going to Julien after the fires had swept through there. It's just something you have to feel,,,it despite the lost of property, the song gives a lighter feel to the natural process of what happens when fires rage through the mountains. From the ashes rise new life, I can totally see the inspiration behind the writing of this song.....

You Didn't Break It is my fave with an honourable mention to ££££ yourself and Burnin Down the Mountain.

It is a weird album to listen to from start to finish. I just pick out one or two random tracks when I put it on, and then load up something else.

"#?@! Yourself." Zappa's influence rings through here, clear as a bell. Great solo, too.

"Natural Born Boy" is a gem.

I picked #?@! Yourself because of it's humour and sharp wit, but I like Little Pieces of Seaweed too, because of the way it varies its pace and suddenly goes off at a tangent, like the bit about the pelicans. "I threatened her with a pelican" is just a hilarious statement - I mean, how would a person go about doing that? It's rediculous and that's what helps make it work. This album inspired me to try some slightly more off the wall ideas in my own songs for my band, but I've run dry again. Having exams and stuff coming up doesn't help, so I'll stick with learning the guitar and leave song writing to later... or someone else! Playing with words in themselves and wacky ideas can throw up all kinds of things you wouldn't get if, say you just wrote a song about a guy acting dumb in a relationship, like I could, from my experience. Words, and funny ideas can spark up something more original, and lets face it, oftenly less clichéd than some of the angsty stuff some of us teens write down from time to time.
