There are two Vai songs that haven't charmed my poor soul yet ( ;) ), and those are: "Genocide" and "I'll be around".

I like the song, but I hate the intro: Firewall. It's so weird.

Hate is such a strong word, and should be used under completely different circumstances.

Hmmm...I'm not to keen on some of the old Flexable (Leftovers) stuff, it seems a bit to wacky for me. Sex and Religion is not one of my favorite albums either, even though Steve's genious pops up in the music every once in a while.

I have nothing against the lyics. It's the melody and the chord progression and the groove of the music itself that I don't like in "I'll be around". When I wanna hear a great Steve Vai ballad, I listen to "All about Eve" or "Gone" or "Selfless love" or "Damn good" or "Touching tongues"... All of these are moving songs, whereas "I'll be around" has a kind of a "radio-hit-single-wannabe' vibe that I dislike. But that's just me. I'm not saying this is a bad song at all.

[quote="BoonDog"]I have great issues with the album Fire Garden.

A lot of it just seems to be steve experimenting with digital effects, to the detriment of his musical abilities. Somebody should of said to Steve to - "leave the big red digital effect switch alone".

I Feel Kind of the same with RI. but its .. Leave the god damn synth alone.

I dislike the album version of the Attitude song... But I love it Live - the guitar sound is so much better, and not "Dry".

Stupid little ones like Whookam, and When I was a little boy, I don't really like - but they don't really class as songs in my eyes, along with Yai Yai.

Cheers,

I love that song but that's just me. :D
