Steve Vai - Little Wing Solo

#1 Post by Satrilarry » Fri Feb 09, 2007 3:43 pm

Hey guys! Can someone tab for me or find me the tabs of the Little Wing Solo that Vai did shortly after Malmsteen? (the legato only solo - if that helps :P).

Thanks for any help!

Edit: I'm talking about the G3 solo of Little Wing that Vai performed.

srv refering to stevie ray vaughn, who did the little wing version quite awesomely. and SRV is also the song eric johnson did in tribute to stevie ray vaughn.

And steve's versions of little wing are freakin amazing.

I think if you break it down into small pieces you will be able to pick it out mate. I've not transcribed it but working with the CD I can pretty much figure where the notes are. I find though that my left hand gets quite fatigued if I try and play in one go..!

I think the Astoria version is better though as I think Steve's playing is a bit more soulful in it...

Cheers

^^yep, he did

but its a beautiful song and its been covered by numerous artists. The Stevie Ray Vaughan version, for example is amazing, a 5 minute instrumental of the song and its a great window into seeing SRV's phrasing style :)
Theres also a great version on acoustic guitar by Monte Montgomery floating around out there.

I think I may have once day started tabbing out vai's astoria version, though I didn't do much past the intro...no idea where I have it now

Definitely, the astoria version is leaps and bounds better, mainly because theres no mindless masterbation from malmsteen.
