Blood & Tears intro - please read

#1 Post by Deyo » Sat Feb 18, 2006 3:18 pm

Couple of months ago i was watching some National Geographic show about India, and in one moment the background music was the very same intro from blood and tears, that part with a little voice singing some melody with lyrics in foreign language.. so, my question is, where did Steve take that intro melody from ? Is that some kind of (famous)/traditional Indian/Hindu song or melody? i am really interested in finding out more about it!

so if you know anything feel free to reply!

A commercially available sample. From a sample library.

You can buy CD's with royalty free samples, which you can use in your music. Those samples are just short sound files of whatever you can (and can't) think off.

I hope this is not a Problem saying this Mikey, jeroen!?!

The CD is a Spectrasonic CD called "The Sounds of Asia!"

it is a double CD either in Audiowave, or akai files for samplers

I use it with a Mac Power book. I particularly prefer the Audio wave files!

I also have the Liquid grooves, burning grooves, Distorted Reality 1+2 Cds!

They are very expensive! That is because you are buying the Rights at the same time! If you record with them, you are asked by the Producer to please state on your CD that you are using "Spectrasonic Files!"

I paid about $700.00 US for 5 cd`s!

it might be cheaper if you go to your local Indian Restaurant and record the cook while he is busy in the Kitchen!

cya

:? Nooopppe! if you look at the Credits on the "Ultrazone" Album you will also see that Steve Thanks the producer at "Spectrasonics!" :?

I did have a translation of it somewhere (I got my folks to listen to it and they came up with a translation). I'll see if I can find it. I can't vouch for the accuracy of it though since my parents had some difficulty hearing it properly!

Hmmm... so Steve didn't write that. No wonder I didn't see credit for a womans voice on there! I don't know the whole thing, but I do believe that the first two words "hari hari" (sp?) means holy or sacred, or something pertaining to the gods...

correct me if im wrong.

In an interview a while ago Steve mentioned that the woman was just reciting prayers.

Ahh, that's a bummer dude! i was just listening to that song yesterday and thinking how pretty the voice was and imaging her talking to vai and recording it in the studio etc...

I assumed it was the same women who was doing the talking parts at the beggining (or is that a sample too)?
