Steve's such a cool guy. Always seems so nice and open about things.

Damn I hope he wins this time. He Deserves some more mainstream recognition.

Steve on CBS

#18 Post by Samuele » Sat Feb 04, 2006 9:36 am

Aww, what a great feature! And yeah, Steve always "spreads coolness"... I don't even know how many times I watched the clips so far.
I just hope it will be online as much time as I need to... "carve it into my deepest memory banks". :)
I (along with most of us vai folks, right?) have heard Steve talk about those topics so many times, but watching the videos gave me goose bumps once again... maybe this time more than ever. I don't even know how much I love listening to Steve explaining things (besides playing my favorite musical stuff - even when just improvising). As usual, I can't explain in words exactly how I feel about watching Steve... you know what I mean. :)

Please, CBS, keep those videos online for some time, ok?

Fantasitic interview. So few artists would freely give this much of themselves to their fans. Well done Steve and all the best at the Grammys.

Awesome clips!

Steve's looking great, I'm happy with that (as this means RI:R tour didn't destroyed Him :P );

It's cool to know how much money Steve earned with Flex-Able 8) (totally deserved)

And a great news is about The Aching Hunger 2CDs/DVD out probably before 2006 ends :D

Good luck for the Grammys!!!

I think Steve Vai cuts his hair short when he's not touring right? Also is the award for the best rock instrumental going to be aired? The only reason I would watch the Grammy's is because I would see Steve Vai. Does anyone know?

As far as I understood it would not be on tv; they will broadcast only those higly commercial/popular stuff as I suppose "best male/female pop singer" and top ten stuff :x

Thats what I heard and I was hoping that it still might be aired. Where can I find out? Would anyone on this site know if the award is aired for sure? I'm not sure if they list it on the site for the Grammy's. I know what you mean with all the more commercialised awards being aired instead of things like best rock instrumental. Who wouldn't want to watch Steve Vai?

Very cool interview. Steve seems in great shape after the 'real illusions'-marathontour. I posted the interviewlink on the Zappaforum as Steve's talking about ZPZ in one of the interviewsnippets. I posted this also on the NPS- and Metropole orchestra guestbooks.
Good luck Steve!

1. Can't stand the hair! Love the razor cut long hair look better, but hey, he can still shred, especially on acoustic. I for one would love for him to make a CD with just him noodling around with the acoustic for around an hour or so. I'd buy it!
2. Nearly fell out of my chair when I heard from Steve's lips the official word on the Aching Hunger DVD/CD project. Guess this means the RI Tour DVD is on hold for now, right, Mikey? Still, I'd love to see Steve with the Orkest, especially after being treated to a whole month of Vai on NPS, which, by the way ROCKS!!! :headbang

Hope Steve gets it this time. It really blew when he was robbed of the Grammy for Whispering A Prayer. Every time I hear that song it's like it's brand new all over again.

Best of luck, Steve. Can't wait for the next US tour. Don't forget us Tennesseans!!! 8)
