I have to agree, I think Joe's lost a step or two the last few years, don't get me wrong he's still great but definitely not what he was...

Like the 03 G3 Vai is the pick of the bunch, but I prefer the 96 vintage with Eric Johnson...

At a recent UK clinic Paul Gilbert said he has been asked and declined to do Japan G3 as he is famous enough over there but would consider non Japanese G3 tour

My goodness, that's really weird. And I thought I didn't like him cos of those fake f-holes (I hate fake f-holes). That's knid of an arrogant thing to say.

I think hes saying he'd like to play in venues outside of japan for once, since the japanese fans already get to see him play alot and he dosen't have the fame to play in other countrys as much.

I see the point of real f-holes, they're ugly but they're there for a reason. I don't see the point of painting them on when they don't do anything.

Kinda like sticking fake pimples on your face.

I suppose you could say artistic statement - a bit like Vai's monkey grip - no real reason for it.

The f-holes are a recognition of the classical instruments that the electric guitar came from. If they were real f-holes played with distortion etc the sound would feedback/be aweful.

Paul Gilbert is a god and frostie's comments are on the money. Let's not turn this forum into a Gilbert and Gilbert guitar slagging match

Me neither, we seem to get everything last in Ireland. I was holding out on ordering it from Amazon in case it turned up in a shop (as it usually does after I order it, so I end up with 2)
