Hi

The other day the film 'Ghosts pf Mars' was on, but I missed it because I didnt notice it was on until the day after. Apparently the sound track was done by Steve and Buckethead. To me that sounds like an awesome combination, do any of you know this film and know what the soundtrack is like? Also, why doesnt it appear on 'The Elusive Light and Sound'?

cheers

Yea the soundtrack is pretty good. Steve plays on two songs with Anthrax and John Carpenter on keyboard. Buckethead kicks ass on a couple of songs as well. You should check it out if you get the chance :)

i dont know if you've noticed... but the name of the album is.. the elusive light and sound VOL. 1 ... so that implies that maybe if he makes any more cinema music hell include this track and any new ones in a future VOL 2. .. besides the vol 1. was already packed full.

I know Steve is mentioned but to my ears it's got Anthrax written all over it.

eh?... You can definately here Vai going off in a song called "Ghost Poppin"
I think all he brought with him was a Boss Orange box and the digitec Whammy. Anthrax does a cool riff behind him just a pounding power chord that seems to circle the drums. I think Vai just improvised all of his solos on the spot but Carpenter wrote the music. :D

I saw the movie before I knew Steve was on the soundtrack. In retrospect, I can see that he did play some cues. (Crap movie)

If you read the sleeve from ELS1 you will see that the stuff is from a specific time period, and I assume that everything from PCU onwards will be on ELS2?

The DVD of the movie actually features bonus content showing the recording of the soundtrack. You can see Steve laying down the leads live in the studio.

Well worth a look.

Listen to Mikey....
I rented the DVD and had no clue as to who played on the
soundtrack until looking at the special features.

As if anyone should know, Steve used the sustainer Jem
(flo) I believe, ds1, dd5, and whammy, the basic travel pack. 8)

I have got to check that DVD out then!!! Ya know I've always enjoyed Carpenters soundtracks. Simple but very effective. Just think of the Halloween Movie score

It may be under Soundtrack or something like that
you have to watch the footage before to get to the part
where Vai and Buckethead play, cause I was like "HEY"
