I hear this riff in my dreams

#1 Post by aardwolf » Sat Apr 19, 2003 4:14 am

This riff appears all over the place. At the beginning of Wire and Wood (Alcatrazz), in the solo in the middle of Junkie (Flexible), and we can't forget the end of Riddles (Passion And Warfare).

you know it from the PAW liner notes...
Ba-nu-ni-ni-na-ni-nu
Ba-nu-ni-ni-na-ni-nu, Bdra-da
Ba-nu-ni-ni-na-ni-nu, Bdra-da-di-da

Are there more examples of this pervasive melody?

Is there a deeper significance to its omnipresence?

The curiosity burns within me, I would be filled with great joy to find an answer.

thanks

it's funny you should say that, dude....cos it fascinated me for AGES! I meditated on it for a long long time....singing the notes through again and again in my head...then I cross referenced it with sections from the Bhagavad Gita and the yoga sutras and came up with the answer...it was a message saying 'go to the shops, get some milk'

Which is really freaky, cos I needed some!!

Maybe it holds a unique answer for every different human being!

Good luck

It's the same riff. It's played slow in The Riddle and faster in Answers.

Anyone care to hazard a guess why?

I guess he just could'nt get it out of his head! Its damn catchy!

A lot of P&W was written throughout the 80's I believe. Maybe he wrote answers (or just the riff) whilst he was in alcatrazz and around the time he was doing flexable. I'm always reusing stuff I make up all the time.

Is the lick really on the end of the Riddle slowed Down? Never heard that before ?!
