How did steve record this song? Did he tell Julian what to say? did he sample some spontaneous ramblings....how? anyone?

He sampled spontaneous ramblings. "Ya-yo-gakk" was actually a little made up song Julian liked to sing as a toddler. Steve sampled hundreds of hours of it and edited it together into the masterpiece that's now coming out of your speakers.

Peace,

Mikey :)

all i have to say, if that is true, wow. that sounds like a lot of hardwork. It sounds like he told the child what to say....even more impressive now.

whats even funnier is in the breakdown hes saying "dont touch my hinnie" because after saying all the "ya yo gaks", steve thought it was so cute he would go and pinch his little butt!

when i heard the song, i imagined this in my head: little julian standing on a chair with big headphones on his little head, with his hands on the ear parts, singing into a big mic. that'd be cute

i like kids.

hehe, i think this song is sooooooooooo cute! it's such a wonderful father/son interactive experience made to live on forever.
i wonder what Julian thinks when he now hears this song? must be like looking at an audio snapshot in time.

Hi guys

I agree, awesome song!!!
If you haven't got the Alien Loves Secrets DVD, in the commentary
track from Steve, he says that he believes Ya Yo Gak was actually Julians way of saying "I love you dad".
