Anyone know specifically what band steve listened to to get inspiratoin for freak show excess? i really wanna hear this stuff :D

On the "Freak Show Excess" vid Steve talks about a particular band called "Evo Popusov"??!! (or something like that!:lol: ) I cant remember exactly what they were called off the top of my head. I do remember he also talks about the band being very comfortable playing in very odd time signatures.

I will dig the vid out when I get home...

There's also a song called "Bulgarian Bulge" done by Don Ellis and his big band in 1971, in the meter of 33 and smokin' peppery hot stuff! For that matter, the whole live, 2-disc recording of "Tears of Joy" is quite phenomenal. Only the last track, written by a member of Don's band, is in a common time signature. I could extrapolate more, but the Amazon page has more info.
