I just heard a song by Rare Earth called "I just want to celabrate" and thought about Steve doing a cover of it. It fits his playing style perfect. What other tunes would you like to here Steve do?? This should be good!!

I'd want to hear him go nuts over Mr. Scary... with him improving over it, that could get really frickin cool.

Excuse me? NOBODY can cover Vai! take any of his songs, and you will see that every note, and the exact way it is played is a part of the song that cant be changed! so you can do a cover, and you can play his exact songs cause noone plays like our Vai.

Vai you are the greatest guitar and musician! (This is not bad for my first post in your forum ah? :-))

Have a good Vai

No matter what band or artist.. a cover will never sound the same as the original.

I'd love to hear Vai attempt to play someone elses music note for note. Among things I'd like to hear him attempt:

The Chicken Polka, (just imagine the possibilities...)
Jason Becker: Opus Pocus, Dweller In the Cellar
Vinnie Moore: Comming Home

I would also love to see Vai do justice to the Final Fantasy VII sound track.

which song of beckers did steve cover on the first tribute album??

I've got the second becker tribute album, but vai isn't on that, which song did he do on the first one.

I'd actually like to hear him play perpetual burn by becker.

"Child in time" by Deep Purple. Great room for Vai to do his thing. :)

Witch would change it completely.. :? :?:

St. Anger!

No, seriously, I'd love to hear him do an Ozzy song, just thinking of their project getting canned steams me.

I'd like to hear some Queen stuff, and maybe some Santana. Fade to Black would be cool, but it doesn't suit him.

Oh, and maybe a Satch song or two!

Inca Roads by Zappa would be nice to hear covered.
And I'm sure Steve might have even have to play it a few times on stage...? Or should I say: he might had have an honour to play it on stage...
