Hello Mikey and all!!

I´m Patrick (aka "BackFromDead" at the forum) and now I´m living in Argentina (south America, the bottom of the world...LOL). It has passed a long time since steve gave me this incredible gift (an "Attitude Guitar"), and today I´ve decided to share its pictures and story with you Mikey & with all of my VAI.COM´s friends. :D

BTW; I´ll love if you Mickey could include this guitar at VAI.COM´s "theMachines/Steve´s Guitars" section (I can take better pictures of it and send it asap if needed) because it´s not there yet- and It´s still a Steve´s Guitar, isn´t it? ...LOL.

OKAY, here it comes the story:

During one of his concerts during his Alien Love Secret´s tour in Argentina , I have had the joy to meet Steve in person and had the luck of being invited to assist him at the backstage during his two days tour here, where I was able to express him my everlasting gratitude for his music (well, it´s due of what his music have done for me that I´ve chosen my nickname for this forum!! .......maybe steve still remember what I´m talking about  )

During one of his songs, he´s experienced a problem with one of his stunt guitars (its name is "Attitude Mr. Gon&Go!" ´couse it has this written on the front of its body- please see the pictures below-), and he went so pissed off with it that he performed the MOST AWESOME LIVE GUITAR DISSECTION ONSTAGE that I´ve saw in my entire life!!!

More than that, after the show he called me and, in front of his whole band and Ruta, gave it to me as a gift. A couple of
weeks later he sent me a personal and very emotive letter that I´ll keep with me forever!

Last week I saw a current VAI.COM´s eBay auction (one of the necks from Steve's “Attitude” guitars) and it´s made me remember when a crazy collector from USA offered me a lot of money for it (enough to buy 3 brand new Jems 7VWH - a fortune here at Soth America). Eventhough I can´t affort to buy a single one of those Jems, I rejected his offer because, you know, maybe this guitar has been beaten to dead and useless to be played, but It´s be owned and given to me by Steve ....and there´s no enough money in the world that can make me sale this special piece of Steve´s memorabilia.
More than that; I will leave it as it is......just to remember that special moment in my life (BTW; I´ve had the luck to meet Steve again in his Fire Garden South America´s Tour....I wonder if a G3 Tour is scheduled for South America soon...)

Okay, now I´ll share with you what steve can do with a guitar if he get angry with it:
(just posted the links to aboid overloading VAI.COM´s bandwidth)

Well, I hope you enjoy these pictures, and I´ll be very grateful to you Mickey if you can ask Steve to see this post and send him my regards and eternal gratitude.

THANKS and SEE YA AROUND!

Holy CRAP. Now that, my friends, is what I call attitude.

Was that ever even an actual, working guitar?

Yes dude, It was a working guitar...the thing that made steve mad with it was a problem with the cable plug (please see Picture 11) ...BTW; all its electronic parts are still alive...including the cable plug too!!
I remember that there was a person of steve´s crew (I´m not sure if he was Mickey..I think not...) that was using a camcorder to tape parts of Steve´s show...maybe he was able to tape the "dissection" moment and now Mickey could publish it at the video section of Steve´s site...but it´s been a long time ago and maybe that tape is not available...

Yes Integrum, but for me the most important thing was not just to receive from Steve his guitar, but to be able to meet steve, share with him my story and express him my eternal gratitude.... a very touching moment in my life that I´ll never forget!!

Cool story!

I can't imagine Steve being someone who loses his cool...Although he told a story on Jemsite how he trashed a guitar and flushed it down the toilet piece by piece backstage somewhere (this was pre-ibanez era btw), because it was such a horrible piece of stuff.
