Single Coil on Passion and Warfare

What was the Single Coil used on Steve's 550 when he recorded Liberty? Don't say EVOs because DiMarzio didn't release the EVOs until 1993. Were they Area 61 or True Velvets ?

Just FYI, the single coil in Steve's JEM is the DiMarzio ISCV2. It is the SC that comes in the EVO 3 piece set if you're wondering. It sells for 49.99 by itself.

Can I ask why you ask about Liberty specifically? Did he use the single coil on that song? I've been wondering about the unique warm attack on that song, and he mentions a specially made direct box used on that song in the PAW tab book so I've been wondering if he blended the cabinet signals with a direct signal, but I have mostly assumed that that song is the neck Blaze pickup. He recorded Liberty with his Black universe, brand new. I'm not sure how many 7 string pickups existed in 1990 so I'd doubt it is anything but the blaze.

Most of Vai's single coil tones come from his strat
(70's, zappa guitar)
