Trem Springs

#1 Post by Flang3r » Tue Aug 16, 2016 2:31 am

Hello everybody.
I was wondering, which springs does Mr. Vai use for his guitars? It looks like, as if Jems' tremolos do not require much force to dive etc. Does anybody have any info about that?

I'm trying to retrofit my budget RG370DX with relatively good parts. Ordered ESP arming adjuster, but before installing it, I wanted to sort out springs first. It has Edge II Pro (knife edges and pegs are in good condition) with 3 springs. They have such an enormous tension, that even with 9-42 zeroed, I can barely move my tremolo bar with whole palm. If one spring is removed, then the spring tension is not enough :? I run out of space for screws :D

after dealing with trem issues with my ibanez rg's about 8 years ago-
i'd recommend the black fender american strat springs

it saved me a lot of trouble- my guitar guy raved about them and really fixed alot of my problems back then

Steve uses normal factory ibanez springs.
