I'd also say in general I have some room to talk in all this because...

I am an endorsed artist from many of the brands mentioned above...

DiMarzio, Morley Pedals, TC Electronic, Fernandes Guitars, Fractal Audio Systems...So I know how things work. (although I'd use all of the stuff even if Vai didn't use them- I still only use the Bad Horsie- not because of Vai but because it is the closest pedal to an EMB Audio remote wah)

I've also passed on several endorsements and no longer use many companies I've once endorsed/got stuff from... For example N-Tune guitar tuners that are built into the vol pot- i know longer use/endorse.

D'Addario for example hit me at artist pricing before tax and extremely expensive fedex shipping- more than what musiciansfriend sells 10 packs for on electrics.

I'd use carvin guitars- they're very underrated and the best set up instruments out of a factory- I like their amps but all the free carvins in the world wouldn't make me get rid of a boogie.

I also have many other endorsement deals, InTuneGP for guitar picks and a few others... I also have relationships with people at many other companies that I wouldn't call and endorsement but they take care of me...even guitar center

...so I know how things work.

oh ok.

What did you expect a member of Vai's organization to say? That they suck and he is meeting a contractual obligation? I doubt that's the case but even if it were no one in Vai's camp will ever put that in print.

Its not conspiracy, its business and it happens everyday in every business out there.. You do what you have to to protect the image. Protect the brand. I would expect the Site Admin and anyone else working for Mr Vai would have been instructed as such

I would agree if he was rocking Les Pauls and Peavey amps. But he is still using Carvin and Ibanez. He isn't hurting any brand. Plus my guess is Carvin has more to gain from Vai than Cai has to gain from Carvin. If it was a big deal to either party, he wouldn't be using L1s.

:-)

Hate to burst your bubble, but I have not had any such instructions (nor has anyone else for that matter).

Look, you obviously have set your mind to what you think is the truth, regardless of what we (who are actually in the know) are telling you. That's fine..completely up to you. We don't gain anything by convincing you so go ahead and believe whatever you like.

 really? Wow that's weird, Evo I thought was the guitar that was always supposed to be the same. It's been pretty much the same for 20 years. Have a link?

wow interesting. Except the only active site admin is Jeroen, and he's usually the one setting things straight. And I'm pretty sure nobodies seen the carvin contract besides the people involved.

This is true. Evo also has a new neck installed recently.

why a new neck? Is the old one too worn, or too stressed?
