Jemini

#1 Post by Jeries » Sat Sep 14, 2013 8:55 am

i just picked up a jemini at a pawn shop (i bought it to sell- got an axe2 don't really use fx)

it's pretty damn kickass- way better than a tubescreamer+ds1

It's a GREAT sounding pedal

I'm very impressed

Too bad it took this long to realize- and they've been discontinued

A couple of years back I set a mark of $75 to get one of these pedals off eBay. Just never happened.

After reading your post it sparked my interest again so I went in search of one. I am in the works to close a deal on one for south of $50 with the box too.

Here is a shot of the one I'm looking in to:

Another cool feature of these pedals is that no two are alike paint job wise. Each one is unique.

Now I'm like a kid waiting on Santa to come.. :)

I jumped on it the other day. Now just hoping the guy on the other end actually ships it to me. This one will stay in my guitar collection. They may go up in value since they were a limited run. Wonder how many were actually made and sold??

Got to love craigslist. Way better deals vs. eBay. Last board I got was a RP500 still in the box for $80 shipped from New York. Last JEM I bought came from craigslist too. I drove a ways to get that in person though.

i rob people ever day on craigslist

ebay is no longer a place for a good deal- ebay is now considered to me- top dollar for gear...

best craigslist deal ever- MINT JS1000 w/case. under $200 ($2400 guitar)
20 year old kid with a rich dad- thought it was a js100

I got my jemeni today and I love the warmth on both sides. Very nice crunch on the distortion. I am going to use it from now on together with my Fender super reverb from 1965. The only problem with the combination of jem70v and super reverb is that the amp can't go higher than 2 if you are going to be able to play small clubs. But it sounds great. I've been using a tube screamer kit pedal for years now but the jemini is much better. The sound is sweet both with low and high saturation. That impressed me.

Hiya,
I've just got one of these of an auction site, but sadly it doesn't come with the booklet of Steve's settings. Would anyone have an e-copy or be willing to scan please? I have searched for it but no luck so far. The ibanez site has the multi-language user manual available for download, but not the settings booklet.
Thanks for any help :headbang

Mine didn't come with the booklet as well. Only the box and pedal. I found this on the web and it sounds pretty good. Heck you can get a lot of good tone from this thing. Just play around.

The manual gives you Vai’s exact settings for each side (green channel — drive at 11 o’clock, tone at 12:30 and level at 1 o’clock. Red channel — drive at 3:30, tone at 11 and level at 1).

From the middle of the review from this link:

Thanks for the info guitars911.
I found this which seems to be the same numbers:

I'm just curious (and nerdy) to know what was in the booklet, and if there was anything different to what we've found already.

i bought a jemini pedal and i have to agree its a really good pedal although mine appears to have a fault, when you click on the green side you lose all sound which slowly comes back after a few seconds so something needs fixing!
