Hello everybody, I just visited vai.com where the title of the new album has been verified. There is a YouTube sample of one track, Gravity Storm, accompanied by a selection of still photos, mostly of Steve and Evo, aarrhh bless!

Then a simple image ignites my wanton guitar lust, what looks like a JEM7V in white but with a maple fingerboard and the DNA inlays! I don't believe it's a production model, any ideas. I also don't recall seeing it before.

Thanks, Siro.

Never saw that one before. Looks Baby/Powder blue with the same color inlay, it's pretty light colored. Maple board. Definitely not a production JEM. Looked like it might have been a pearloid guard.

It appears at 0:50 and the picture changes at 1:14. I know that it isn't the new JEM70V (that was my first guess). There is no sustainer fitted in the neck position and I agreed that it doesn't look pure white although my screen's pretty small and not that good an image.

Unfortunately I'm left-handed and didn't manage to get hold of one of the limited edition JEM7VL's (I couldn't organize a buyer for my kidneys in time!). I'm a real fan of maple boards and would love to see it as a production model.

Thanks guys and best wishes, Siro.

Ibanez made Steve two prototypes. SFG-sea foam green and FB-frozen blue. Steve has chosen to go with SFG model. Neck on those two is 3pc, both of them have EDGE tremolo, SFG has green inlays and rosewood fretboard, FB has abalone inlays and maple fretboard. Don't know about the pickups. But SFG has a sustainer. And those guitars are LACS.
