I took a look at some photos- idk what ones you were looking at...

all the pickups seemed pretty white to me- the pickguard a tiny bit yellow but the pickups seemed white

i bet they're still orig- my theory is...the humbuckers have black pole pieces and say DIMARIZIO on the lower left- after market Evolutions don't say dimarzio on the face and the ones that come stock in the jem have gold pole pieces.

i have a pic of evo from the mid 90`s and the pickups had the gold pole pieces so i wonder if they have been changed?

Well, that question has been answered many times. I heard somewhere, that Evo's pickups weren't changed. Steve only sent them to DiMarzio factory, to renew them (cleaning, to change covers, pole pieces)... So, that might explain why they have been variating from black to gold.

There's only Steve, who can tell us a real story about his guitars.
