So what are the specs on this new hand-painted Exp. Hendrix guitar? Looks almost like a JS2400. I am surprised not to see a thread in here on it yet.

Or have I missed an obvious thread?

As i can see it has a sustainer and scalloped rosewood neck..... :)

So that is one of Steve's Jemocaseters (that's what I call it). It seems that it hasn't got name so I would call it Middlesex guitar (because of painting on the pickguard).
Th other one is called Cherry Bloosom I thhink.

Does anybody know what the mini humbuckers are?

Thanks for the pics. My PC bites so my video was very jumpy and hard to see.

The body style looks more like a Jem in these pictures. What an odd duck of an axe.

Those pickups look more like mini-humbuckers to me. I'm a little surprised he didn't go with Area Dimarzios for a more single-coil sound.

I think he went that way because of sustainer (it doesn't work with single coils).

The pick up choice reminds me of the Andy Timmons signature guitar.

I'm pretty sure there's no Sustainer on there. One, the three pickups look the same. Two, I think the Sustainer won't work with the angled pickup.

huh .. there's a sustainer in the neck with controls (two switches and an added mix knob) on the body. it'll work with whatever's in the bridge. in this case, what's in the bridge is a humbucker. what are you guys not seeing here? :)

He has two of these guitars, they are different, one with sustainer, one without.... You can see the other guitar at the Vai facebook page....

The pics in this thread do not seem to show the switch for the harmonic modes. And most Strat-style guitars have three knobs.

I'm still not seeing evidence of a Sustainer.
