Indeed, that one in your second link looks real enough:

It's real and it belonged to Steve, but it's not the new Jem. Here's my story about it on my blog:

Unless Rich and some other folks over at Jemsite is pulling our legs, I am afraid that is the real thing.

I would love for this to be misdirection on the part of Ibanez' and SSV's crews.

For The LOVE OF GOD, let it be so...

I agree. I had my doubts until I saw Rich's post confirming it.

So i is a Hard Tail ;). I really wonder what Steve is going to use it for.

But: It doesn´t have a Piezo :(. I also think the green one would have been nice. Maybe there´s going to be 2 colours :P. Anyway, if I needed a Hard Tail guitar, I think I´d go for a Paul Gilbert model. Already have a JEM and no other could replace it :).

i actually love the look of it!
but i doubt ill buy a guitar without a tremolo. plus the tremolo is part of steve's style, so it'll be interesting to see how he adapts his playing to suit a hardtail

Dude, that guitar looks beautiful. Think of the versatility of it. ALL the tones of a "regular" Jem, with the added sustain of a hard tail. I am assuming it is string through body. I am chomping at the bit to check one out @ the local "geetar" store.
Peace. :guitar

Peace. :guitar
It is a string through body. The guitar has the Tight End bridge on it, which is the same one on Ibanez FR models. You change the strings like on a Telecaster. At first I was expecting a simple fixed bridge like on RG fixed models, but this one looks much better.

Nothing. That one just isn't a hard tail, it's a strat-style Jem hybrid.

Of course as an artist you can never please everybody at all points (as usual), but I like the looks of the new guitar!

"What does it matter decanter, provided that we have ecstasy."
If it is prolongation of his soul and instrument of his mind.

Sorry for this approximate translation of Musset. :?
