I'm not against hardtails, and I don't dislike the decal just because it's ugly, which it is.
I dislike the decal because I made a decision a long time ago that I wouldn't play anything with the artist's name on it. Period. I love the feel of an SRV Strat, but I would never buy one, simply because it's got his name on it. The same goes for this guitar. I love Vai, but I'm not him. I'd rather not have his name on my guitar. And you can bet if I'm gonna spend over $700 on a guitar, it'll be something I'm gonna play the hell out of. This guitar? No. AT100CL? Hell yeah.

And they lived happily ever after.
The End.

What's the difference? If you play a JEM it already has Vai's name all over it! Not physicaly, but everyone knows that is a VAI guitar. It is designed by Vai, it is played by Vai and it just looks like Vai.

And is that logo really Vai's name? It just looks like symbols to me...is it some arabic language or something?

No, it´s a V an A and an I, what means VAI.

And it´s not about his name, but about how it looks like and the thing itself. If I buy a Vai T-Shirt, I expect a Vai logo on it, because I spend $30 for just that. A guitar is no merchandising article (and much more expensive). If they spray my name on it, I´ll take one.

And I need to make clear that I have nothing against hard-tails.
This, however, is insanely over-priced, with a disturbingly gross-looking graphic plastered all over the guitar.
Scary....

Just curious, but that the hell is on it to justify the 3k price tag.

With it being a hard tail I was expecting it to slot in as an upgrade to the Jnr/555's.

for that price tag, a veneer top would have been nice...

I gotta be honest here, I don't think it was a good move on anyones part...!

I was annoyed enough when they took the Lo-Pro's from the stock Jems.

Does anybody knows what happened to that issue? The year is advancing and at least in Europe, I haven't seen any 7eafx in stores.

I'm just curious about testing one. My first impression wasn't very good, but the new Jem seems quite cool in the pics from NAMM ...

I was really hoping for something along the lines of the new Gilbert PGM 401. Sure everybody knows it's a Vai guitar but the logo/sticker or whatever it is just kills it for me. But that's just me.

I like that they made a hard tail jem but the logo is hideous. Please make a hard tail without the logo.

for the price we could have just bought the jem 77 and blocked the trem, i think they should have experimented with different colours other than black.
