Honestly I've wanted one of these for a long time. I'm glad they've finally made one. Now i can have a rhythm guitar that I can really dedicate to that purpose, slightly higher action, different pick ups - breeds instead of the evolutions, a heavier gague of strings if i want to do some down tuning. This is a fantastic idea. I'm all kinds of excited to try one of these.

I think people could benefit from this alot =)

I think we all agree that a hardtail Jem is awesome!

It's just...the gaudy graphic on this one...why Steve why?!

I don't know of many gigging musicians other than Steve himself that would play a guitar that has a massive VAI logo on the bum.

I wish all musicians were born blind. Just take the thing off if you don't like it. It's how it plays and how it sounds. I play a JEM77BFP and I love it, but it aged GREEN, didn't stay blue. Sucks, but it's STILL an awesome guitar. Being a guitarist is about more than the identity that it's iconography is capable of giving you.

I would be happy to play that guitar as is.

I was under the impression that it was inlayed and not just a sticker...

Is it just a sticker?

Hey Wilch, I changed your post to an URL rather than an Inline image. If you want to show the image, either host it yourself (with permission from Rich ofcourse) or on imageschak etc, but let's not leech Ibanezrules.com bandwith.

Thanks. :)

The things I mainly don't like about it is the logo and how it just says Steve's name through the logo with the earth behind it, and the fact that because it's a hardtail model I was expecting a much more affordable JEM :?

Satch's hardtail JS costs $1,200 less than Steve's JEM version.
That's one expensive vine inlay.
Oh, I forgot, that HUGE sticker on the body must add a lot to the production cost...

$3,470 for a hardtail.
I'm sorry, but I'm extremely disappointed.

I've been a Vai fan for 23 years now, and I have never felt like this before about anything Steve has done.
This is sad...
What's next, $150 t-shirts?

p.s.
Before someone rips my head off, I know Ibanez sets the price point, but Steve has something to do with it.
I'm not a happy fan right now...
Sorry.

well, me too :(. Well, I know, it can happen, that a product is no good or bad designed and stuff, and everything can be cleared up by a simple explaination, but it still afects me and makes me unhappy somehow. But I´m also pretty sure Steve reads the reviews and will react the right way ;).

I have to agree, it would be nice to hear Steve or Ibanez comment on all the negative criticism (some of which I, however reluctantly, agree with).
