#1 Post by vaiisgod8 » Thu Jan 11, 2007 7:06 am

The guitar pick holder on the headstock of Steve's guitars is what i want on mine but I have not been able to find anyplace where to buy it. Is it something that is made for him or what

Yeah it's a fairly hi tech system. Hard to find.
But you could probably make due with using some double stick tape,
and a plastic spine for holding together those old book reports together.

i made my one out of faber-castle slide binders, i cut them to the right length, heated them so i could mold them to the shape of the headstock, then used Velcro to stick them on, works a treat! i think steve used them too but i could be wrong

after a while the plastic will start to wear out & you'll want to change it.
that's why if you look at Steve's guitars, those plastic strips are attached with Velcro.

I simply use plain velcro and make sure its sticky on one side and attach.   does the job

I also super-glue the plastic piece to the velcro.
otherwise it looses the contour of the headstock.

I did mine this way:

- double-sided transparent tape to the headstock

- glue (not too much or it will be ruining the back of the headstock)

- one side of velcro

then I prepared the other side of velcro attached with lots of glue to the plastic binder and...

VOILA' 8)

Here it is (the one on my jem, I also have one on my strat smaller though)

What about that appendage Steve has on the back of his headstock for holding the Allen keys (see the guitar on the right)? Is that glued on/screwed in?
