Has anybody heard what the new pups are like? Are they gonna be more like EVOs or are they gonna be like the breed? And has anybody heard anything about the cost? Im gonna buy this guitar no matter what, but I dont wanna spend my entire college fund. And what about a release date for this baby?

i REALLY want to hear what this guitar sounds like.

i am also very curious as to the logistics of playing an acrylic instrument -- ie repairs, frequency of maintenance, etc.

and c'mon, we need to see some videos of vai playing this guitar!

well Ibanez have allready done the transparent JS Crystal Planet model

(though all those reviews with people not even playing it make me sad :()

Ampeg/Dan Armstrong had a plexiglass guitar at the beginning of the 70s (I know David Grohl has one and often plays it, you can spot it in one of the Foo Fighters videos), I think they released a reissue of some sort a couple of years ago

I think BC Rich also did a couple

and although I find the company rather tacky in general, the fact they also did the headstock in it is pretty neat

I knew what the pickups were i just was wondering about the sound of them. may be they will have more tone or something to compensate for the lack of wood. either way i hope its 5k or less because i will definitely buy this thing

i can tell you acrylic guitars are VERY heavy - a friend of mine has the acrylic JS model. Luckily the Jem body is pretty lightweight to begin with because of all the wood scooped out for the lion claw trem, monkey grip, and extra deep cut away. expect it to be heavier than a les paul.

Man this guitar is beautiful!

Unfortunately this time around I won't be able to buy one even if they do retail them. :(
Hopefully I'll have more money by the time the next anniversary JEM comes out, if there is another one. When do you think the next one will be, 30th I'm sure there will be, but maybe one for the 25th?

Maybe I'm getting a bit too far ahead of things...
