I was talking a to a good friend of mine over at Guitar Center that stated that Ibanez will probably be bringing back the past colors of the Jem series.

Is this true, Mikey?

No. Ibanez is keeping the guitar under wraps and distributors have not seen it.

From Ibanez forum:
JAY13 wrote:20th Anniversary JEM Sighting!

Today, I saw the new JEM20TH. This is, in my personal opinion...not the
opinion of a Hoshino employee, but that of my own personal tastes...the
most stunning guitar Ibanez has EVER produced. Everything about it is
amazing, all the way down to the tuning machine buttons/knobs. If you
thought the JEM DNA was cool, if you thought the Floral Patterns were
cool, or if you thought the all chrome Bad Horsie was cool, you are going
to think the 20TH Anniversary JEM is a MASTERPIECE...and it truly is.

The part that stinks is that I can't disclose ANYTHING about it...YET.

Stay Tuned...

JAY

PS: I also saw the new standard issue JEM!!!
And...

Ladies and gentlemen, I have GREAT NEWS! Info on the 20th anniversary JEM.

I actually just heard about it, from a guy at my local guitar shop who's actually sponsored by Ibanez I think...

But anyway, here's what I've heard:

-The guitar will have an acrylic finish. If you don't understand that, THE GUITAR WILL BE CLEAR.
-There will be LED lights ALL throughout the guitar (blue, I believe), and when you press down (or pull up, I can't remember personally) on the knob, all the LED lights shine throughout the guitar.
-The guitar will cost around $7,000 from what I've heard.

Again, this is what I've heard, I can probably get more info on this.

7K list is outrageous. Acrylic, leds... hmm, I guess I'm NOT buying this one. Why the hell the leds???

I want an AANJ 777LNG reissue!!!!!!! *whines to Steve* :D

I've got plans to mod an old UV77WH into a UV777LNG. now, THAT'S the axe I really crave for.

Anyway, I hope this info is wrong.

From what I've heard, the thing plays and sounds like a dream. So, don't say no until you've seen and/or played the thing. But, I do agree with you, 7K is a bit much.

A LNG JEM would be sweet! But, it'd need the monkey grip, then it'd be complete.

I have some pics of a clear acrylic "JEM" with LEDs. I made it about a year ago but did not install the LEDs (though it's routed for it), the pic is taken by lighting it up from the outside into the material and the engraving lights up like a christmas tree! It would be cool if they did something like that, the sound is great(like a mix of ash and bass wood) and the sustain is unreal but it would weigh a ton if they want to stay with the floyd...

I will post photo when I'm off probation...lol

Peace
