Hello Folks,
I have been looking to find out as much info as possible about the blue Performance guitar Vai used from his days in Alcatrazz (featured on the 3rd Gallery page)
I am toying with the idea of building a replica of it and would like any pictures or info possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
WrinkledPug

ppvai,
Thanks for the link, those pics should help me out. Any idea why that huge white piece of plastic is mounted on the guitar? I remember seeing something similar on other early Vai guitars (perhaps even on the legendary Green Meanie)

Jose,
Thanks again. I thought if I posted the questions regarding this guitar here someone will definitely have some answers and interesting tidbits of info, I'll just have to be patient.

Mikey,
That's what I was imagining the plastic was for, if I remember correctly the piece on the Grean Meanie seems to be pretty thick (maybe even curved?)
Thanks for the info and also for locating my login info, I appreciate it

I don't think it was any thicker than regular pickguard.. though it might have been more like perspex/acrylic.
He has a similar setup on this "Old Yeller" Jackson seen here: http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitarpages/guitar065.html
though that has foam under it and is more "soft".

Mikey,
I see what you're talking about, I searched over the gallery a little more and there are several pics of these wrist supports/rests. Everything from clear to the white. That 'JemSite' has a pic of the grean meanie with a slab of blue plastic (or whatever) mounted and that one looks pretty thick and curved....or I could be looking at it wrong
