No it isn't 44.4 notes per second. And I already mathematically proved it. Try putting 32nd notes into a midi program or power tab, and set the tempo to anything above 200. It clearly isn't possible, and it clearly isn't musical at that point. 44.4 notes per second would be 32nd notes at around 332...

"I did take the time to slow it down, and the fastest you pick is about 15.5 NPS. Playing the clip at 1/2 speed and ignoring the fact you're not playing anything remotely in sync with the left hand, the pickstroke rhythm in the fastest parts consistently matches up 4 notes per beat with a metronome...

Perhaps you should check out a recording of a "buzz roll" by a drummer. It is perhaps the fastest musical possibility, mostly because the drumstick bounces multiple times per stroke, which creates a huge buzz where you can't make out any individual attack and it just becomes a blur. I listened to y...

t, The album arrove today. It's complete awesomeness. Amazing the guy was able to get all of these players together!!!! One of the best non instrmental albums I've heard in a while. Seriously, I don't know if i myself could have done a better job picking the lineup. It's a shame, Joe Stump was origi...

Look at it this way, play a 3 note pers string linear scale run on 4 strings ascending, then descending. Make it within the time frame of one second, that's 23 NPS (provided you do not play the 12 note twice) right there. You realize that's about 32nd notes at 180 Beats Per minute, right? I'd like ...

I beg to differ. "Apparently you didn't read my post because it documented that Marcus Paus played 46.6 notes per second." This is a plain and simple b.s. claim. It is clearly impossible by the laws of physics. Im sorry. You wouldn't even hear the notes. It'd be a blur of a sound. It wouldn't even ...

30 notes per second? Next joke please! Besides,i think that guitarists are the only instrumentalists that constantly think about playing fast and even faster. 30 notes per second? Next joke please! Have you tried altering the action on your guitar yourself? It's not a hard thing to do, just make sure there are no buzzes coming from the strings, and make sure when you fret a note, the string doesn't get cut off by another fret. Also, Malmsteen can go just as fast on his acoustics than his elec...

Re: guyver_dio

Come on people give me the straight story now. Im tired of hearing that the guitar has nothing to do with the skill level of a player(you know what I mean here, so dont take it literally). I just dont know if I can accept that. Sounds like you've already made an answer to your own question. Serious...

Re: How much influence does the guitar have on speed

I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now(part time) and its mostly been learning Steve Vai songs. I can play them pretty good but I never can seem to gain any increase in my speed needed for the solos in Vai's songs such as Tender Surrender and For The Love Of God. Eugenes trick bag is anothe...
